Bakkeland - Our ‘home’ in Stavanger, Norway
Bakkeland is the name of the site where House of Bothania began.
Based on the south west coast, Stavanger is a medium size town known for street art and being the oil capital of Norway. Stavanger is also known for its stunning natural landscapes, including majestic fjords like Lysefjord and picturesque areas such as Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock).
When the property was acquired by founder Silje Engelstrand Natland and her husband Åge Engelstrand Westbø in 2018 it needed some serious love, healing and attention. Silje had a clear vision and quickly began bringing Bakkeland to life, restoring the former glory and breathing in a new identity and purpose.
The property is now home to the beautiful Alchemist Garden, The House, The Stables, an intimate Writing Studio and Butterfly House. House of Bothania is quickly becoming an unique destination for innovative workshops and happenings for the consciously curious and those seeking something unique and steeped in energetic connection.
As this site evolves, Bakkeland and The House of Bothania will welcome the opportunity to host, partner and provide a space for those sharing a like-minded vision. We are at the very beginning of our journey and open to exploration of ways in which to collaborate. From retreats to a unique and special gathering, a practitioner workshop or creative team bonding away day, our vision is to build an energy flow of positive heartspace experience. In 2024 we are excited to announce we will be launching Chamber of Treasures our on-site boutique which will be an opportunity to experience The Alchemist Perfume Set, Individual Alchemist Perfumes and The Alchemist Perfume Oil (launching soon).
