The Garden Tours at Bakkeland
A botanical garden walk in historic surroundings at Bjergsted
The garden at Bakkeland has been developed over several years with great love for botany, diversity and the natural character of the place. Here, a rich and varied plant environment has been built up where trees, shrubs, perennials and other ornamental plants are allowed to develop in interaction with the terrain, light and seasons.
The garden contains a wide range of plants and structures, and is constantly developing. The work is characterized by a long-term perspective, curiosity and respect for nature's own processes. At the same time, the garden is shaped with a view to wholeness, variety and experience through the seasons.
During a garden tour, we will talk about:
• The development of the garden over the years
• Plant selection and compositions in different parts of the garden
• The diversity of trees, shrubs and perennials on the property
• How the garden is developed in dialogue with the landscape
